January 2024 summary

Here’s what happened in January!

In sanctuary news, there is now a dog walking program. If you are interested in joining our team for regular dog walks, please contact us. All levels of experience are welcome!

Speaking of dogs, Mina and Chiyo brought a few dogs (Mojo, Bandit and Ruby) to a nature school event in Ichihara City. This was a family event that brought kids closer to nature with play, cooking on bonfires, and talking about animals and nature conservation. Everyone had a great time – kids, parents, and dogs!

In Mina news, she is still working hard to find homes several large dogs in urgent need. 5 came to Animo in January. Of those, 2 have been adopted and 2 more are being fostered by AnimO volunteers. And Mina isn’t working alone! She is collaborating with other rescuers, including Ms. Hiromi (right). Ms. Hiromi is a cat rescuer, but she was able to find home for one of the dogs in Osaka.

Applications for the remaining dogs like Daddy (pictured) are being accepted, if you are interested in fostering or adopting, please read this FAQ: https://www.animosanctuary.com/post/nov-2023-dog-fostering-faq.

The Potato (a Shiba puppy) came with the large dogs, and he isn’t quite ready for a forever home yet. But he has already had a visit from a prospective adopter, so it’s just a matter of time! There are still 2 adult Shibas available for adoption, please message Mina or call AnimO if you are interested. Placing them in homes is a high priority.
